Faman TOURE re-elected as Chairman of the Board of Directors of DC/BR

Abidjan, June 7, 2024 – Mr. Faman TOURE has been re-elected as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Central Depository/Settlement Bank (DC/BR) following the Board meeting held on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, in Abidjan.  

At the end of this meeting, the Directors of this central structure of the WAEMU regional financial market renewed their confidence in Mr. Faman TOURE to chair the Board of Directors for a three-year term.  

Mr. Faman TOURE expressed his gratitude to all the members of the Board of Directors of DC/BR for their renewed trust and assured them of his commitment to implementing the vision and ambitions of this community-based public service entity, as well as continuing its development strategy in line with the 2021-2025 business plan.  

This reappointment of Mr. Faman TOURE, who has been serving as Chairman of the Board of Directors of DC/BR since June 2022, comes in the context of the completion of the Central Depository/Settlement Bank’s autonomy process.  

Elected President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Côte d'Ivoire (CCI-CI) in July 2016, Mr. Faman TOURE was re-elected as head of this consular Chamber on August 28, 2023, for a second six-year term.  

He was previously a lecturer in the engineering and technical degree programs at the Yamoussoukro Polytechnic Institute, where he taught courses on risk management and various financial risks.  

Holder of a Corporate Director Certificate from Sciences Po Paris and a Professional Mediator diploma from the Professional School of Mediation and Negotiation in Bordeaux, Mr. Faman TOURE has built his career as a business leader in the insurance sector.  

About DC/BR

DC/BR is a specialized financial institution of the WAEMU, headquartered in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire. It is responsible for the centralization and safekeeping of securities for its members, ensuring the successful settlement and delivery of transactions, as well as handling corporate actions on securities.  

As a full member of the Association of National Numbering Agencies (ANNA), it manages the securities identification process in the WAEMU region. DC/BR was established in 1996 and officially began operations on September 16, 1998.
